Obsidian was overly ambitious about the game and there is an A TON and endless cut content, mainly because of the short development time (only 18 months) and because the consoles couldn't handle it at that time (memory, framerate, optimization.). New Vegas would probably be the game that would benefit the most from a remaster/remake. Though it's unclear if all of Bethesda Austin is working on FO76 and what is their next project after this. Mid 2013 to mid 2015: Skyrim's final DLC is done, all hands on deck on Fallout 4īut TES6 seems far away, and a potential Fallout 5 would probably be even more far away.Ĭurrently, it seems (?) likely that Bethesda Maryland, Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Montreal (maybe not the whole team ?) are working on Starfield while Bethesda Austin (formerly BattleCry Studios, the main team behind Fallout 76 with Bethesda Maryland) is busy maintening and adding new content for FO76. It seems there is little room for Fallout 5 anytime soon, though it's not impossible that it may have entered in pre-production somewhere considering Fallout 4's development timeline:Ģ009-2011: pre-production (first asset is created one week after Fallout 3's DLC was completed)Ģ011-2013: the Skyrim team gradually moves to Fallout 4 Bethesda is currently all hands on deck on Starfield (2021 or 2022) and after that on The Elder Scrolls 6 (2024 ? 2025 ?).
